Help! Stomatitis, No Teeth and Food

This is my first posting - I hope someone can help

We adopted a cat 2 years ago who had just had all her teeth with the exception of her 4 fangs removed due to what we think was stomatitis. She was eating a combination of dry and canned food and bleeding a lot. After a few months, we changed her wet food to Nutro Complete care packets - and her gums stopped bleeding. However, she still drools a whitish substance and still has halitosis. Interestingly, it doesn't seem to interfere with her "hunting" in the yard when we let her out.

Has anyone had success with a specific food that has cleared those symptoms as well?

Thanks!

I know of one person who put her cat on a completely raw diet and it cleared up the stomatitis. I would at least cut out any dry food and feed her canned only. Dry is really not the best form of cat food.

Good luck.

Since she has had stomatitis in the past, I would have her mouth looked at on a regular basis as well. Could she be drooling as a result of the surgery? I'd have a conversation with the vet, at the very least.

I don't believe she has ulcers - it doesn't seem to bother her and she is eating an appropriate amount of food. The surgery was 2 years ago - I just found this forum today. My main concern is doing everything to ensure that she doesn't deteriorate - I don't want her to lose her fangs.

The canned cat food was definitely causing her more problems - I think the pastiness of it pressing on her gums was causing the irritation.
