Dogs
Can you please tell me if dogs can catch a cold?
Does it mean anything when a dogs nose is wet or dry? Are dogs colour blind? How far can a dog see? |

Dogs do not really catch colds, not in the same sense that we do. Dogs can get viruses which may seem like a cold but many of them are quite serious and do require medical attention, not like us, spend a few days in bed and all better.
I have always been told that a wet nose on a dog is a sign of health. I have also heard that it isn't true. I personally think that if a dogs nose is wet it is a **sign** of health (doesn't mean for sure healthy). Dogs are colour blind but colour blind doesn't mean that you only see balck and white. A dogs sight is similar to that of a human that is colour blind, just sees certain colours as something else. (I new a guy that though I was drinking beer when I actually had green koolaide just to give you an idea). As for the last question I am not entirely sure about that. I think they have keener sight than we do, and I have heard that they have much better night vision than humans (they must cause dogs in the wild often hunt at night). |

Dogs can't see that well at night, they rely on their sense of smell. Their sense of smell is something like 100 times stronger than hours.
