A few more blooms..

After the weather we've had, everything grew like crazy, including weeds
The first one,my Bee-Balm that was red last year
Second one I don't know what it is,but it spreads like crazy..
The third is of course a Cone-flower,I have lot's but the earwigs have been busy this year, chewing them up

One of the later Tiger-lillies,some of my Black-eyed Susans and A late blooming Astilbe,I like that one the best,a beautiful purple and quiet tall, compared to the others.
That's it for now, more to come..

Chico2 put a bowl of beer in the garden you're having the earwig issue with. The evil little, #%^& climb in after the beer and drown.

Yeah,it worked with slugs, for sure, shame about my beer though
For the ear-wigs,I put out cut off pieces of old hose(not panty-hose) and they crawl in there, then I rehome them at the neighbors, but there are soooo many,OMG I hate those things

Beautiful as always chico!
You're white one you don't know is Obediant Plant. You are right. They spread like crazy. I lost most of mine to bad soil but I noticed I had a few left. They will get moved eventually to better soil.
I love Balloon Flowers too. I have both the purple and pink. My pink is just about ready to open. The purple has been for a while. It's one of my favs too.
The butterfly plant is gorgeous! Love those as well. Mine is still tiny. Oh heck, I love all the plants!!
Keep them coming!

Beautiful flowers!!

If u are having earwig problems try this recipe I got from Lee Valley with my earwig traps.

Earwig Recipe

half fill a tuna can with water
add a tablesppon of vegetable oil
a few drops of dish soap to break surface tension a small piece of fruit or a few drops of fish oil for a "come hither" odor.
replace the lid.

It worked for me.

Thank's everyone,my way of trapping ear-wigs,works,I get hundreds of them, but there are another few millions,it seems
I will try the recipe.

14+,my other butter-fly bush is HUGE as tall as me,it's just about to bloom.

My larger garden has grown sooo dense because of all the rain,I've given up on trying to seperate the plants.

Everything looks beautiful!

I found a tip online about earwigs, and I'm trying it because they are going after my cabbages.

Bay leaves!

Apparently if you crush the bay leaves and place around problem areas it will repel earwigs.

And they are also drowning happy in my homemade mix of yeast, sugar and water. I have five traps all around and it's working for both slugs and earwigs. I don't even find a need to use beer.

Edit forgot to add that maybe the Monarda is a hybrid and reverted back to pink. I have some reliable reds that come red for the past 4 summers, will save seeds for you.

Beautiful flowers, chico! I'm going to have to get some astilbe...I really like them!

Your monarda does look like it's reverted to the wild bergamot type...wild bergamot is that same color.

Hazel,I have 5 Astilbes,I really love them, even after the blooms are gone, the foliage is quiet nice.
This last one is stunnig, really nice color.
Ceara,I am not very good with seeds,it just takes too long, but 14+ gave me some Phlox-seeds and they are growing nicely, maybe next year I will see some blooms.
14+also gave me something called an Egg-Plant flower and it's growing nicely.
I cannot believe we are soon in to August, what happened to the summer

Summer is over. The hummingbird migration started three days ago.

I blinked and missed summer...

Nice flowers, Chico - love the tiger lilly!

Hazel - our male hummers left mid July - I still have about 4 females at the feeder though - they "should" be gone by now but with our major heat wave, I guess they're hanging around
