My dog's legs shake

I have a 1 yr old St. Bernard and his front legs have been shaking since he was 5 months. At 6 months old the vet took xrays of his shoulder and his elbow and he found nothing wrong. He said I may want to take retakes of the elbow and send it off to a specialist in case he missed something but he doubts it. Could it be something neuromuscular? He used to just have his right front leg shaking but now its his left leg as well, the right is worse though. Could it be that he is just anxious? he is a very high strung dog that really hates to be alone. Or could it be a serious disease?
Thanks very much,
Melissa

Hi

I'm so sorry to hear about your Saint. Does the shaking happen when the dog is upright or lying down? Has your vet mentioned anything else. Has he ruled out Wobbler's Syndrome?

Keep us posted

Thanks....

Thanks for replying Bugsy,

What is wobbler's syndrome? My dog only shakes his front legs when he is sitting down not lying down. This has been going on since he was 5 months. It's worrisome but he doesnt seem to be in pain.

Hi Melissa

Here are a few links I found on Wobbler's Syndrome. I can only presume if your vet has not mentioned it, he/she has ruled it out. Maybe... mention it on your next vet visit. He/she would be the best person to ask concerning this subject.

Thanks for all the info.....

Thanks for replying Bugsy,
I am sure he doesnt have wobbler's syndrome. He doesnt have any of the symptoms and the vet has ruled out out a neurological problem as well. He suggests me to do more xrays of his elbow because it can be hard to detect in the xray views he first did.
I dunno maybe I should get another opinion. Maybe he is just nervous, high strung? he is always excited
