And the Oscar Goes To ..

The Golden Globe awards are sometime later this month - often give a good indication for what might follow in the Academy awards - nominees are being announced Jan. 31.
What are your predictions for the best pic, director, actress and actor awards? Who are your own personal favourites from last year's movie crop?
I've not seen many of the top contenders but would have to say Crash was the best film I've viewed from last year.

Do you like to watch these various movie award shows? I always enjoy the Academy Awards - all the glamour and hype. The stars fashion selections can be intriguing too -from the ridiculous to the sublime.

Of course the just-plain-boring comes with it. The long-winded speeches.

Though I know it's a real problem time-wise - I did find the loud music they injected last year to drown out acceptance speeches rather rude and embarrasing. Surely there is a kinder way - this needs revamping.
Why not just open up a trap door when their 30 seconds is up, and they disappear from the stage entirely?

I love the oscars and golden globes and sometimes the emmys (emmies?). I haven't looked at the nominees though, and this year I haven't seen too many of the movies so it'll be hard to guess. I know Zach Braff is nominated for a globe- I don't know what for, but whatever it is, he deserves it.

Abby & Keeper and I walked most of the way up Brokeback Mountain on Sunday and it was anything but glamourous!!!

Moose Mountain in Kananaskis . . . . pretty icy trails and I kept falling on my butt.

Haven't seen the movie yet but it sounds like the frontrunner.

I always thought it would be nice to have 3 kids, or dogs, or cats, or hamsters. 3 of something LOL ! Just so I could name them Tony, Emmy, and Oscar.

How many people have won all three, does anyone know? I think only 2 or 3 people. I want to say Julie Andrews but I'm not sure.
