Oh how adorable.
We don't have many squirrels around the house here for some reason, just lots of chipmunks
who are just as cute.
They drive Meiko nuts outside. He will stand in front of the tree he saw them run up for HOURS ON END thinking its still up there.
He has no concept that it jumped branches and now is 2 miles down the road.

Yeah, we have a lot of that insanity going on here, too, erykah! I'm not sure if they're utterly fooled or if it's just wishful thinking...

chico...some of those squirrels look almost black! Do you have a cluster of black squirrels there? In Eau Claire, where we used to live, there were white ones around our house and a few miles down the road there was a cluster population of black ones living at a park. It's always so much fun to see the oddly-colored ones.

I love squirrels! There's one that sometimes makes an appearance on the palm tree outside my window. The gang loves watching them.

Now I have mostly grey ones and about 1/2 dozen all black, the white fluff on their ears, they get in the winter and a really thick coat, which makes them look fat.
Hubby says, like Frenchy, they are big rats with a fluffy tailbut he still feeds them, right out of his hands
The cats are so used to them, they don't even bother anymore..but Bailey loves chasing them.
The three babies I had are getting really big, fully capable of looking after themselves,at least at my house
AG,I have a hard time picturing a squirrel in a palm-tree,but I guess they are everywhere.

I have never seen a white Squirrel, but I remember a member here showing us one, beautiful!!
I also have a pair of red squirrels, sooo tiny, incredibly fast and soo cute.
OH,and I love little Chipmunks,don't have many though:sad:

Chico, my best friends in-laws spend most of the year in a house they built in South Carolina, or North Carolina, one of the Carolina's. A couple of years ago they spend an Easter over there and she sent me this picture. I loved it so much I've kept it.

I just thought he was the cutest little guy. Just sitting there having his breakfast, not a care in the world.

Aww, Chico, she was adorable. When I was little I wanted a squirrel as a pet. If I ever have my own place, I'm going to put feedings stations all over my yard for them.

And very nice outdoor pets they are too. We don't get squirrels around here either. Sammy chases them away.

Those squirrels are cute. We don't have any around here, but I'm not complaining as they'd do a lot of damage in my garden.

We have chipmunks which I don't mind, cute little fur critters. One year we had 11 of them as momma had babies. LOL

AG,one day you will have your own home with a yard,I am sure and then you can have your very own menagerie
I am super worried right now,we have a terrible windstorm.one of the Squirrels-nests are down and I am hoping a big one where the 3 babies live with their mom can withstand this

I used to like them. We had one at the cottage when I was a kid , we named him "Ti-Bi" my father would feed him all the time , even let him inside the cottage once (mom freaked out and said Ti-Bi was not allowed in the house )

when I was about 12 yr old , I went cross country skiing with friends and we came across a bunch of them , we got our granola bars out to feed them , of course , me being tried to hand feed them , and it worked !!! But I guess the granola bar wasn't enough for one of them and it decided to eat my hand needed to go to the clinic and get a tetanos shot ... ouch

Ouch Frenchy
I don't try to tame any of the Squirrels, they are wild,I just feed them and we enjoy watching them.
FiFi was a different story, she was not afraid of the cats,so I used to call her name and she would come to the front for her peanuts, safe from the cats.

When i was about 8 years old we had this chipmunk that used to live under the back part of the house we called it the barn as it looked like one.anyways my mom called it Jimmy and only for her would it come and take peanuts out of her hand or peanut butter off her hand or foot.this went on for years till he got a mate and moved out from under the barn.
