female dog urine more acidic than male
Hi. Quick question to clear up an accusation by our landlord. We the tenants rent an apartment in the same building where she lives. She has stated that our female dog has killed the grass in a particular area of the lawn because she is a female dog. Do males and females have different types of urine, and is it possible that her urine is ruining the lawn? She may try to make us pay for the lawn, but it seems rather unfounded since its not possible to track which dog pees where. Help! Thanks.

I've heard that females tend to pee in one spot instead of several, so therefore kills larger spots of grass. I doubt this is valid as Den-Den still squats when he really has to go and the rest of the time is just to leave his calling card.

He can accuse all he wants...unless he has a "kodak moment"..he's barking up the wrong tree. I'd love to see him use that "theory" in court. LOL

Yep, dog pee will damage your lawn. Try adding a bit of tomato juice to the dog food.

Seems to help. Your other option is to water the lawn where the dogs go more often.
I live in a mobile home park, so I just shortened the tie out and put pea gravel in the area between the house and the driveway. Now the girls go either on the gravel or the driveway and a good hosedown once a week or so cleans things right up.
