my dog injury

my dog,hurted himself above his lip.its a very small white spot there n in the middlle a small black tiny hole or spot type of a thing.whenever he barks or gets exited blood start coming out like a fountain.that too a considerable amount. though it stops by itself,but it flowing after a periodic time interval.i hv taken him to vet n he gave him an injection for clotting. but it was of no use.plz help me out.

Did the vet check for foreign bodies embedded in the wound? Maybe whatever he punctured himself on is still in there? If not, maybe it can be cauterized to stop it from bleeding. I think a 2nd trip to the vet is in order if it's bleeding that much. Some types of wounds will seep a bit but if it's coming out like a fountain he should go back to the vet.

If the wound is coming out like a fountain, and the meds given to your dog for clotting does not work, I would suggest you go back to your vet. That is quite a lot of blood if it is coming out like that.
