1 year old golden retriever
After running and playing outdoors in the snow, my dog is showing difficulty in standing up from her sleep position. She has never demonstrated any difficulty whatsoever and now this. Could she have gotten hurt while playing? She doesn't growl if you try to manipulate her hind legs but I am concerned. Could this be symptomatic of hip dysplasia? She was fine until her playfullness outdoors yesterday in the fresh snow. There's not much snow on the ground, could it be that the snow made the surface slick and she may have injured herself playing and running in it?

I'd wait about a week to see what's going on.
It sounds to me like the problem might simply be an over-exertion of your dog's muscles. In this case the difficulty will go away within a few days. I hope your dog feels better. thedoog |
