did i just get lucky with my chihuahua???

My chihuahua is remarkably smart! I was told by many people when i was looking into getting a chihuahua to not to because they are impossible to train and are horriable with kids.... Well, my dog is is almost 3 months old and is litter trained, house broken and amazing with my two kids. She is learning basic comands and is not a yappy dog. the only thing i have found is that she can be very stubroin when she wants to be.. has anyone else found this with their dogs?

My Yorkie ( who is 'Supposed' to be a yapper ) Isint yappy at all. And like yours she is REALLY smart. At the age of 4 months, she knows sit, stay , give paw, lay down, wait for it, take it nice and we are working on rollover. She also knows 'Stand' For if she was ever in a show, she does the yorkie stance which is very much like the german shepherd stance(Also works great fir when we are grooming her!) lol She is semi house trained (we only started training for it a week ago!) Sounds like we have both hit the jackpot!! lol

yes i am very excited... every time i tell someone i have a chi the first thing they say is oh it must be a yappy little thing!!! and she is not timid at all, i am not sure yet if that is a good or a bad thing!!! She will go up to anyone and wag her crooked little tail and tries to give everyone kisses..... i am not going to breed her or show her, just keep her as a pet. I bought her from the states and she is akc registered....

it just dependds on weather the dog is naturally yappy or not, not all chi's are..just depends on the dog. she sounds like a cutie..hope we get to see pictures soon.
