New here, hi!

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd post an intro and say hi! I'm a Siberian Husky owner living in New-Brunswick, we have an 18 month old female and we're getting a new male pup in a week. My husband and I will be training them as sled dogs (the female was given to us by an older couple who did not have time to take care of her , so she is a fairly new addition and we've introduced her slowly), and we are SO excited about it! We also have 2 kids under the age of 6, so it makes for 1 busy and fun filled household. Our first family dog was a Sibe and she lived to be about 10, we lost her to cancer last year. Y'all know that once you get a husky you can never go back, another breed will not be enough, LOL.

Glad to be here, I've been reading a bit here and there and getting a feel for the forum, hope to jump in more as time allows. Got a few questions for the professional dog sled trainers out there so if you've got any advice please share!

I'm right outside of Moncton actually! Where are you in Ontario? I was born and raise in Northern Ontario, between Sault Ste Marie and Sudbury. My do I miss it, although here is nice country too.

to the board!

Another Northern Ontario connection, yipeee! I live in Wawa.
Someday i've got to get myself out east and visit - i'm told it's got a lot in common with Northern Ontario so I might feel "at home" there.

I'm sure you'll find the sled dog connection here... a couple of passionate sledders are around. Sigh, i've never sledded but always wanted to. I used to dog sit a pack but I only got to feed and scoop, no sledding

Can't wait to see pics of your "pack"

I've been to Wawa! Actually all over Northern Ontario, there is nothing quite like it. It's funny you should say that, our heritage and the Acadian heritage really do resemble each other, it was amazing to see the similarities when my husband and I first met (songs were the same, traditions, food, etc!). The people here are really friendly too.

Thanks for the welcome!
