Angus Update :)

Just thought I would post a few more pics of Angus. He's growing like a weed! Hard to believe how big he's gotten in the past week.

He is doing great, already learned how to sit, give paw and almost how to lay down (were working on that one).

He does have a irritated eye tho, it doesn't seem to bother him at all but it looks red and is weepy.

I can't take him to the vet right away. He's due for his second set of needles on March 12 and I think I will wait til then.(Unless it gets a lot worse) There is a outbreak Parvo here on the island (with most cases being in our area).

So I'm limiting his exposure to other dogs for now. Better safe than sorry!

Oh, my! He is getting big!

If you have some sterile saline solution (not contact solutions, just plain saline) you can irrigate his eye and see if that helps some. Don't let it go too long, though--eyes aren't something that should be fooled with. If the eye isn't better within a few days, I wouldn't want to wait until the 12th to have it looked at. I understand your reasoning, though--parvo is one of those things you try to avoid at all costs!

Good idea to keep him away from other dogs till the vet visit. Hope the visit will be a positive visit! and

I picked up some saline solution yesterday and will be rinsing his eye for a few days. It looks sore, with all the stains, but it doesn't seem to be bothering him at all. I think its hurting me more than him!!

He so crazy at times, but I try to keep his eye clean and dry. It's so hard to keep a busy puppy still!!!

More pics to come later today....its a sunny day, white snow and a Angus photo shoot is happening later!!! (our first family photo should be taken today).

You can also try a homeopathic product called Oculoheel which is available at most health food stores and is excellent for eye irritations.

Would your vet be agreeable to dispensing some eye meds if you took some close up shots of his eye for him to view and explained your parvo concerns?

That would be a good idea. I will go 1-2 more days will the saline solution and see how he is. I really want to take him in and get checked but I'm nervous. The vet that I go to (actually I have 2 vets; both very nice) are great and I'm sure they will have no problem giving me something for him (if he's need anything).
