Missing Bernese Mountain Dog in Bowden, Alberta ~ Dog has been found
This was posted on the Berner board I belong to, and they have requested the notice be spread:

location: Range Road 14 - outside of Bowden, Alberta, Canada.

A 2 year old female Bernese Mountain Dog named Ruby, went missing from
her owner's yard on May 26th/13. She is friendly but may not come to
strangers. She is not wearing a collar as she was in her yard. She is micro chipped.

If you have any information or have seen Ruby, please call 1-403-227-5610 or
1-403-396-9249 or 1-403-396-9219.

Please help bring Ruby home.

Just read on Berner-L that Ruby has been found and is now home safe and sound.

What a relief. I just read a newspaper report on another board of dog thefts in the west and it seems most are being taken from their own yards. Very scary.

It is very scary! Just last week a person close to the city here, left the dogs out in her property (farm) like always, and when she went back to get them a truck was driving away with them! she reported to the policy immediately and I believe the dogs were found later than day. Happy ending, but not everyone's is ending like this.

For what I read this all for illegal dog fighting and then weeks or months after the dogs are found abandoned and in poor health.

The polices in my state had warn people about leaving their dogs outside or in their cars as there has been dogs stolen and given to labs for money. People will do anything for a few $$$!
