Question huge bump on dogs chin

i have a 5 year old golden and he recently developed a golf ball sized bump on his bottom left jaw. it doesn't seem to be causing him any pain and he isn't acting any different. what is it, and will it go away on it's own?

Any "golf ball sized lump" MUST be seen by a vet.

It could be an abcess, or it could be cancer.

my dog had the same problem and it was a ruptured salivary gland. You need to bring the dog to the vet.
