the best book i have read about owning a dog is stanley coren's "how to speak dog" - it not fully about dog training per se but does offer a lot of great info about communicating with your dog - it is subtitled "mastering the art of dog-human communication" and has a lot of information about body language and how you can read your dog. it is a wonderful read and absolutely neccessary if you're a first time dog owner. most local libraries will have it and i highly recommend checking it out.
just my 2 cents... |
