I met a SOUTH RUSSIAN OWTCHARKA today

Beautiful dog, He was a yr old. His owner told me he is the only one in Canada. She brought him over herself.

They are beautiful.

The other beautiful ones are the Caucasian Ovcharka.And there is one breeder in Saskatoon.

look like sheepdogs? Reminds me of the cartoon where the wolf is after the sheep and they punch in at the beginning of the shift.

They look to have a body structure similar to the sight hounds from that region except bigger boned. So I would bet there is some of these hounds in their breeding a way back when.
