Welcome Swallows
Found I could stand right under my clothesline this morning and take photo's of these young Welcome Swallows that were waiting for the parents to bring food to them. Just wondered if you have these in Canada? We had a pair put a nest in our front porch and just days ago I found one youngster trying to crash its way out through the windowpane so had to catch then release it.

Those look similar to our barn swallows, but they have a dark necklace.

I looked that up, SIA, and Barn Swallows don't come down into this State. I love how brave these little Welcome Swallows are, not past swooping me if I go near a nest.

They are little cuties, Chico, and there are a few swooping around in circles just outside the window. It's rained all morning so now it's stopped I guess they need to make up for lost time and catch plenty of insects for the youngsters.

I think I've probably seen them more often flying than still. Around sunset/dusk the mosquitoes come out and it's always nice to see the swallows eliminating a few hundred of them. I looked up Welcome Swallows and seems they're only in Australia and nearby islands.
