Chickadee's and others
A pretty chickadee shot, a white breasted nuthatch and a dove having a snooze up in the rock garden.

I love to see all these bird pictures on this forum. It's such a great passtime to go birding. My girlfriend that goes birding with me just came home from Arizona last week and she said the hummingbirds at her sisters feeders are there by the dozens.

I love the birds in winter! Especially the chickadees and nuthatches. We can always count on them to come by and brighten the dimmest days...
Beautiful pics!

Right now,I can count about 25 mourning-doves in the tree and on the ground.
When I look out at night,I see them in the trees in the dark,is that how they sleep??? Other birds seem to go in to the hedges and bushes at night, not the doves,I wonder why?

I know, the doves don't seem to go for deep cover like the smaller birds. I'm not sure why. Even during the day, they sleep out in the open on the fence and in the rock garden.

Those pictures are just amazing!
I love chickadees, and like Hazel, I always find they cheer up the gloomiest days When we go skiing or snowshoeing they often will follow along with us ... I think picking up the seed we knock from the trees? it's always nice to have a friend along when you are out in the bush

great pictures! i love the morning dove picture, i remember the first time i saw one i was in the living room looking outside at the birds and i saw two of them sitting in the tree, and my mom is a big bird fanatic, so i quietly leave the window (so not to scare it away) and i go yelling up the stairs " MOM, MOM, COME HERE QUICKLY, THERE IS A REALLY COOL BIRD OUTSIDE, ITS KIND OF LIKE A PIGEON...BUT COOLER" so we both quickly thump down the stairs, and quietly walk up the window, and my mom was all excited by this point, and i go "see look up there in that tree arent they pretty" and she kinda looked disapointed that it was only a morning dove, but i still love them well i digress, they are great shots clm

I adore mourning doves! Although we don't seem to get any up here.
Love chickadees too... they always flitter from tree to tree, seemingly watching humans do their thing. Great pics!
