8 yr old Persian with multiple symptoms
My 8 yr old male persian has dropped from 6.8 to 5 lbs, patch on his neck extending to his chest that has hair loss and discoloration, obsessed with water and urinates and poops out of the box. He also cries at night. He is still active and constantly wants to go outside. The vet has completed blood work (hormone), urinalysis and ultra sound and we can not find anything. The urinating seems behaviorial - he marks anything new on the ground and has begun going on the wood floors. I would appreciate any help.

Are you letting him outside? If so I would keep him in for a while until you figure out what is wrong as something outside could be causing or aggrivating the problem. Have you changed foods or litter? Sounds bizarre...maybe someone here has had something similar...affraid I'm not much help...I just really hope all turns out alright. {{HUG}}

Since he goes out, have you had him tested for leukemia? Did the blood work include thyroid, diabetes and kidney function?
I think the urinating is not behavioral, but another symptom of his illness. Cats who are sick very often avoid the litterbox. |

Agitation is often connected to hyperthyroidism in cats. Seems incredible that the vet was unable to find ANYthing amiss. I agree with LR, don't get hung up on 'this is behavioural', most often it's not.
