distractions??

On todays walk Ive noticed that Jin gets distracted and ignores me sometimes. When I want him to sit he will. But if we go to a "distracting" area( like the park or the his terroritory) he will ignore me. He hasnt done this at the school. Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. The obedience school and your home are familiar and even boring, but a park is very exciting.

You have to make him understand that he must obey no matter where he is and to do that you have to practice all the time. If you tell him to Sit, he must do it, even if you have to stand in one spot for 10 minutes. Give the command once, and give him 2 seconds to obey. If not, then help him sit, but don't repeat the command. IF he gets up, help him sit again. This way he will learn he may as well obey the first time you tell him, because he isn't going anywhere, or having any fun until he does.
