A problem with my cat...please help
Hey everyone,
I recently noticed that there seems to be something wrong with my two year old cats eye. It seems almost as though she has a whiteish contact lens that gets stuck in the bottom of her eyes. I know thats not what it is but its quite hard to describe. She normally has really bright white eyes but now they seem to be watery and she doesn't look around as much. It doesn't seem as though she has trouble seeing however. Does anyone know what could be wrong with her? I cant take her to the vet as she just had kittens recently. |

Hi Donatella,
It sounds as though it could be cataracts or conjunctivitis - I am not a vet though, so you cannot count on what I "think" it may be. It just sounds like that is what it may be by your description. Either way, whether I am right or wrong, any notice in change of health in your pet needs to be taken really seriously and looked at by a vet. Just like people you can not go by what I say or another says and treat the illness without examination and recommendation by a pet health professional. It may cost more, depending on your vet, but since she has just given birth to a litter I would suggest contacting her veterinarian and having them make a house call since she cannot leave her young - most vets will do this. Hope I was of help - keep me posted!! |

Why can't you take her to the vet if she has kittens? You certainly can, and can make an appointment to have her spayed at the same time.

If she has conjunctivitis she can pass it on to her kittens. You should at least call your vet and see what they say. If its white and milky I'd say a cataract, but if an infection it could be detrimental to the babies.
