Latest bird bath.
LOL:. This will not be everyone's cup of tea but it sort of suits this country area I live in. The base of this bird bath is a tree with the old swagman leaning against it, swag beside him, ditto for his dog and billy. Nice and solid so that might stop Roo from knocking the top off it, he likes to drink out of them. (Eeewww! Drinking someone else's bath water.)
Not much happening in the garden, too cold. |

I love it! my bird bath is as simple as it could get, and I am not crazy about it, specially not after seeing this one./

That's a nice one. I tend to prefer simple over elaborate, (although as long as I don't have to put it on my lawn, whatever makes you happy) but that scene is well done.

I like your birdbath GF. Nikki drinks out of our little water fountain at the front of the house too. But he's tall enough not to knock it over. That said, one day there was a birdie drumstick in it . Don't know how that got there, but it was nasty. My bee's drink from the water fountain so my biggest worry is Nikki getting stung while he's having a lap.

That is a lot fancier than my birdbaths but the birds use it anyway. I like your a lot better. My dog Marty likes to taste other dogs pee, that is gross!

CsqU4r3d, it's concrete and very heavy. I have 3 others, a couple that are plain and simple but they are easily knocked over, so I liked this one for the width of the base. The top is nice, not a scooped out bowl type, the sides are vertical and the bottom is flat. Might be wrong but I think little birds might cope with that better. I will be going back, when I can afford it, to buy a statue, life size, of a cattle dog, and I have asked my sister(an artist) to paint the tan markings on it for me. LOL. DD, the bees here seem to favor one side of the horse troughs. It's like the ponies and bees respect each other's space and won't use the other critter's trough.
Oh, the guy suggested a bird bath that actually had a bird sitting on it but the bird was a KOOKABURRA, which are predatory, so no smaller bird would ever go near such a bird bath. LOL. |

Nice and solid-looking, GF. Cool scene for the base, too. If the basin is very deep, though, it's best to put a flat rock or some stones in the middle of it so little birds have a shallow place to bathe. Most birds aren't good swimmers and little ones can get waterlogged and drown if the water is too deep.

That top looks deep, Hazel, but isn't, instead the bottom of it is quite thick. The water will be deeper in my other 3 in fact.
Kooka's are noisy, Barkingdog, especially when a few get together and start. |
