Beagles - tolerance of cold weather?

We've recently adopted a beagle! Quite a change from the german shepherd we had before (we had to put her to sleep a year and a half ago), but he's the most perfect fit for our family and we're completely in love.

Now to my question. Should we get him a jacket for when it gets very cold here in Toronto? In one way I'm thinking it's not necessary as we always keep moving when outside (brisk walks), then again it's not as much of a no-brainer as it was with our shepherd. Thoughts?

Thanks! Maria

it certainly wouldn't hurt to put a jacket on your little guy when the temperatures drop!
congrats on your new addition

my beagles paws use to freeze up if we walked longer than 30 minutes in Ontario winters...

I would get him one , maybe not make him wear it every day but when there's a wind chill factor ... brrrr

My great dane has 2 of them , and Chloe (mini golden) will get one too.

Congratulation on the newbie , pictures please !!!!

Thanks for the feedback, looks like there's some shopping we'll have to do.

I have a smaller dog who has never had great tolerance for cold. He is getting older now  and is already hesitant about his evening walk and it has not even been that cold yet

I figure he is just lower to the ground and the cold goes right through him

I am going to get him a little jacket this year. That's why I am enjoying Frenchy's fashion show so much.

Put it this way, if you get one, it certainly won't hurt, right

Sweet pooch ...does he have a name? (and do you have more pics??? )
