Quick Question about Barking...

I have a almost 4 and a half month old Papillon/jack russell terrier mix....everything online says BOTH breeds are known for their barking(which I've accepted and hope to be able to curb to just "warning" barks instead of "i'm gonna bark cuz you so much as breathed" barks..lol)...but thing is, I have not even heard my puppy bark once!
Is that normal at his age, or no?
Should I be worried/concerned, or should I sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet while I can?lol...well quiet minus the whines when he wants his way... or the squeak squeak squeak of his favorite toy.. haha!

Definitely wouldn't consider it a reason to worry.

I would sit back and enjoy the silence just because both breeds are supposed to bark doesnt mean yours will. There are always exceptions to everything in life, including dogs. Seems you have lucked out with not getting one with a major barking issue.

No reason to suspect deafness? If not, then enjoy. Buddy, Bridie's little JR/Corgi "boy-toy" rarely barks.

Nope he's definately NOT deaf...lol
If you can't find him(we let him free range in the house...when no one is home tho, he's confined to kitchen and living room via gates) you just gotta honk the tail of his favorite toy(a raccoon with like 13 squeaking things...the tail honks...lol) and he comes RUNNING from where ever he may be...haha
I guess I'm just use to my mom's dog(Trixie will bark if you so much as walk by on the street) who's a lhasa apso/poodle. So to me, it's totally weird not to have my dog barking....altho my bf is LOVING it....the barking was his greatest dread...haha!

Enjoy the quiet, it probably won't last. Many dogs don't start to really bark until they become older and more secure. Once they mature they become more territorial and the barking may kick in.
