My cat is sick.
Hello, my cat is sick. We rescued her from a shelter about 9 years ago, so we know she is approx. 10years old. She is very small, all black and very lovable. About 3 days ago, she stopped eating and drinking. She has not used her litter box in 2 days. She appears somewhat interested in food when I approach her with her bowl or with a treat in hand but then only sniffs or gives it a half-hearted lick and then backs away. Her pupils are sometimes dilated...(unusual in fairly bright light) and she appears to be uncomfortable...though has not expressed any obvious pain. Her tummy is not distended...she has vomited twice...I don't think she has a fever and cant be sure of any of her other vital signs either. No signs of cold or flu. She is very quiet...not moving around much at all. We are miles from a vet...anyone have any advice for us? It is so hard to know she is suffering and not be able to do anything. Thank you. Senie

I would suggest at least call the vet, maybe they can give you a better idea about the severity. By the sounds of it your little girl needs to go in for a visit.

Yes,I agree,it does not take long for a cat to become dehydrated and total system shut-down,please try to get her to a vet sad Animals often suffer in silence, that does not mean they are not in pain.
