Sam I Am says "I'll be returning for New Years!"

Sam will be leaving on December 23rd for his new home in Maine. The person I so wanted to be his forever mom has just called to say that her husband and she would like to have Sam home with them permanently. They would like him to have his first home Christmas with them. I'm overwhelmed, sad and happy at that same time. I made them promise that the one condition is regular updates so that everyone can know how he is doing. He's special to so many of us.

They'll for sure stay in touch. They did extremely regularly with Molly. She's organizing a dog walk for cancer next year to honor Molly. They're good people and Sam will truly be loved.

They've known about Sam since the day he was posted on the net. They've been asking for regular updates on him. They most likely would have considered giving him a home at the very beginning but they weren't ready to accept him. They were still grieving over the loss of Molly. You see, they took Molly knowing her time could be limited. We couldn't get a confirmed diagnosis when we had her here so they took her to a special clinic and had the tests done to confirm she had lymphosarcoma. They gave her 4 months full of love and let her go at home, surrounded by everyone she loved with assistance. Sam's ups and downs made it impossible for me to say, he'll be fine, just give him time. I didn't want them to have to face another loss so soon. Molly was the first loss her husband experienced and it hit him hard. She's a vet tech & dental tech so she's used to accepting the end. Thus when Sam was finally ready to be free of the clinic walls, they had a good talk about it and said, yes, we would like to welcome Sam into our home. You see, I believe Molly died so that Sam would have his special home. It might sound odd but that's what I firmly believe. Sam will be cherished and surrounded by people who can care for him forever. He can have the best of all he needs and he gets to go to work with her daily and be the king of the clinic. Pretty awesome deal I think.

Sounds like a perfect home for Sam . I to am a believer in "everything happens for a reason" even though it is often hard to see that at the time. Thanks for all that you do with these wonderful animals .

Wait a minute! Of course he was going home for Christmas. Because Sam I Am is a Who isn't he? And no matter what badness comes to Whos, they band together and wait for Christmas to come and their spirit conquers all....

(I thought as a Ma, you'd like it BMD...)

I'm so sorry about Molly, I had no idea she passed away, poor little girl. At least she was with a family who loved her and made sure to spoil her rotten in the end

Thanks 100%DL, Molly's passing was a terrible blow to all of us. They only had 4 months with her.
