I have to laugh at the complete turnaround Boo has made. He wasn't so sure about her when she first arrived. Two more weeks and I'll bet they would have been cuddling. I know you'll miss her!

Yeah, glasslass, for some reason, Boo has been spending a lot more time on the floors than on the sofas that Lily still can't get up on.
I'll miss her. Today she was helping me cook. She was just there, watching, not begging or anything, just being with me. |

lol gang...... they are coming to meet her, no guarantees. That's part of fostering, letting go. We all do it and have a hard time with some of the dogs we foster. But then a new one comes along who needs us just as much and we start all over.

Right on ! BMD, please keep me in mind if you ever need a foster mom for a Pyrenee. (If I don't have too many fosters at that moment that is !)

When I get them in Frenchy, they don't stay.... they head to Ontario to the vet who does rescue of them. She has a huge farm and the dogs spend a month with her before they go to their new homes. I brought them one a few months back. But I do need a layup of a few days sometimes before we can arrange transport.

  So she left with her new family... She loves her new sister, even though her sister is definitely in charge. She's going to have acres and acres to run on with a couple who will fall in love with her as soon as she lets her guard down with them. They're a great couple, but I still hope Lily will be ok.

I know how blue you're feeling right now, but you did an amazing thing for Lily, and now you still have room for another foster.

Awww Prin, I am so sad for you I am almost crying as I read this post  . Through your pics and posts Lily worked her way into all of our hearts  . I am very happy for her that she is going to a loving home with a big sister to play and run with. A big hug to you, Boo & Jemma for all your love and support .

Awww,it is bitter-sweet,but her new home sounds great and we might still see Lily-pics
I am sure she'll be happy. You girls who foster and rescue are amazing and I realize although it's sad to let go of a foster, such as Sam,Lily and so many others we've gotten to know, you are the steppingstone for them and to a new loving home. Prin

Prin did an amazing job with Lily. She looked like a million bucks today. She sat all good girl between mine and her new dad's seat on the way back to my place. They'll for sure keep us all posted. She's going to have a wonderful new life. Prin and I are welcome to treck down anytime for a visit. We'll have to plan a road trip.

Yay for lily! it sounds like a match made in heaven... prin you have a right to be blue and to shed a tear for the space she has left behind in your home, but she will always be in your heart and nobody can ever take that away. I know Jemma and Boo are there specially cuddly for you tonight, now go hug'em and have some extra hot chocolate ok?

Oh Prin, I posted in the TJT before I read this one
I have tears in my eyes as I am writing this, I am soooo sad:sad: , yet sooo happy at the same time, I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel. But it is all so very worth it. I am soo happy for Lily, and I congratulate you on the good job you did with her, and the fact that you were able to let her go, it shows that you really do have her best interests at heart Good for you, and give Boo some hugs, both of you need it

Thanks everybody.
Lily's new family kept asking if I was sure they could take her. I'm proud of her, and I'm glad we did it, and I'm glad that she'll have an easier time settling in to her new home than she did with us. And I'm so proud of my doggies. They showed her so much was ok. Like walking through doors was ok, getting in the car was ok, and even getting up on the sofa was ok. The strength of all these rescue doggies is just amazing. But after Lily left, I realized how relieved Jemma was (it was kinda funny- she had eyes like she was half drunk with happiness ) and it made me realize that they deserve a break too. Lily was a huge stress on them both, and they've been sleeping since she left. I think the fosters (all three) have taught them a little bit each time, but they're happy to have their pack and lives back to normal for a while afterward. I guess I'll only know tomorrow if Boo is upset or if he's just really, really tired. |

Yeah you are right to consider your doggies too. This must have been a big adjustment for them. I'm sure they will miss her, expecially Boo, but they had a routine before that they can now get back to. Also when the time is right and you find another doggies that really fits, they may be more ready for it

Don't worry Prin , Boo and Jemma are just fine. My dogs sleep a bit too whenever a foster leaves. The house seem so empty and calm . But I know they do like it when we have a newbie. The way they all play together, and sometimes cudle (depends on the newbie!) so cute.

One thing I know for sure is that they're spread out way more than they've been in the past two weeks... Boo is taking up most of the livingroom floor right now... Because he can... (I'm gonna go bug him though, just so he doesn't get too lonely )

I'm so so happy Lily has found a wonderful home with a newf sister!!
YEAHHHHH Lily!!! By the way what is her sisters name, and did they keep the name Lily? And thank you Prin, for sharing this experience with us. It was almost like being there, (the virtual foster ) reading about all of Lily's great strides, adventures and antics. It was amazing to see how much Lily changed in your care! You could see the difference, not only in her coat, but her eyes, she looks so happy and confident now, a far cry from that first picture:love:

I'm just getting caught up from a busy weekend, so just saw this now! I'm so happy Lily found her forever home!!! And with a sister to play with too!!!! Wahoo!!! That's awesome!!! And poor Boo!!!!! So is he still moping today or does he seem over it now? LOL! And I had to laugh at the comment about Jemma's eyes. Billy has that look whenever my nieces leave after a visit, hehe.
I can't even imagine how hard it would be to love a dog like that and let her go, but THANK YOU for your caring heart and taking such good care of her while she was with you!!!
