Raw eggs are fine for dogs. You can also dry and grind up the egg shells to a powder and add it to their food.

Raw eggs are just fine, as long as they are not expired! I just learned this in the past few months myself from another member here. I now give Petey a raw egg, shell and all to eat and sometimes will freeze a raw egg for him to eat as a treat as well. He LOVES them! The frozen ones are less messy too.

Dazy gets raw or frozen eggs all the time, not once a day, but maybe 3 a week? Shell and all, she loves them! It's fun to watch them eat the frozen ones, like a pupcycle!!!

Do you freeze the egg in the shell and then give it to them whole and unpeeled?
I had heard somewhere that raw yolks were OK but not to give the whites raw as they contain a substance that destroy the B vitamin biotin. |

I usually give Petey an egg maybe 3 times a week. And yep, I freeze it whole. I pull it out of the egg carton and plop it directly into the freezer and then give him the whole thing. It's kind of like a hard boiled egg texture, only popsicle style! He will chew into it and break it apart and lick it. He's never tried to gobble the thing whole, raw or frozen. He has always broken them. I posted pictures a month or two ago, I'll see if I can find them again.
ETA: Here it is, this is from our recent switch in diets. There are a few pics and my comments of him eating first raw and then a frozen one. http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread....ht=frozen+eggs

She has never tried to eat the whole thing at once, when we place it on the floor she always circles it, barks or makes starnge noises (she's very vocal) then cuatiously tries to bite it, it's as fun to watch as it is for her to eat it, she usualy cracks it and takes some shell off, then licks it...and that's saying alot considering she's a retriever who usually gobble up food like it's her last meal...she actually takes her time. Try it, your pooches will love it!!!

My personal preference is to feed my two hard-boiled eggs; however, if I were to feed them raw eggs, I would ensure that they are hormone-free & antibiotic free (found in the healthfood sections). Some contend that it doesn't make a difference, & perhaps it doesn't, but again, that is my preference.
