Cat Emergency!

A very nice lady who rescues cats on her own is now in legal trouble for the number of animals she has.

She urgently needs foster/adopters for many cats including two purebred bluepoint Siamese, females, 2 years old and declawed all four paws. They must be adopted together.

Another is a 3 year old Himalayan female.

They are near Lancaster, ON and she will deliver them to anyone who can help.

Please PM me for contact info.

Pictures coming.

I don't know how this lady could have legal issues for too many animals, as there is no restriction on the limit of dogs/cats for the Lancaster area.

How many cats does this lady have? I've been known to pet sit for clients that own 8 dogs, 20 cats, 5 birds, etc. all under one roof -- yeah it's a lot of work and they are well cared for by the owners and by me.

I think this lady is being given the run around by someone. Has the Cornwall SPCA or animal control got involved???

I beleive almost all towns and cities in ONtario have a 3 dog/6 cat max rule. Is lancaster it's own city, or part of another larger city?

I don't know the details since I didn't speak to her personally, but the cats number around 45 I think. Don't know how many dogs.

I don't know if the legal problems concern the number of animals, or something else.

The city I live in has no limits on altered animals. Only unaltered.

Okay the legal issues have nothing to do with the cats, but these issues are causing a financial crisis and this lady is unable to continue caring for all the pets, although she will keep all the old and unadoptable ones.

Here is a Siamese:

Sorry for going off topic Lucky.

I know of a Siamese rescue in my area, you may want to give them a try, I'm sure they would take the Siamese.http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/ON183.html

Wow,she is beautiful!!
Although I could never take care of 45 cats,I can understand how it might happen..
Is it Lancaster close to the Quebec border?
Here in Oakville we have a limit of 2 dogs/5 cats I believe.
With all the outside cats needing homes, how will she ever find homes for these ones:sad:
I would be climbing the walls if I got all these desperate e-mails and calls for help:sad:
I sent the pic to some of my catloving friends..but they all have 5 or more cats..

Lucky, if you want to PM the lady's contact info, I can get in touch with her and try to help out from here. I have several cat sitting clients that are open to adopting/fostering

Here is the cat that goes with the Siamese. She is NOT Siamese, but is an Oriental Shorhair. The two girls must be adopted together.

WOW when I saw the gray cat I thought it was my Misty that went missing over 2 years ago...what a shock...was she also a rescue from the streets...she wouldn't happen to be tattooed? I can't get over the imagine. Misty used to pose like that too. My heart sure skipped a beat!

Apparently these two girls were dumped together and the grey cat is a purebred from what I"m told.

Sorry it's not your Misty.

Lancaster is very close to the quebec border, it is not a city and there is no restrictions for the number of cats, the shelter in Cornwall is quite full at the moment with cats and kittens and thats probably why they weren't taken in, plus there is a "fee" at times to dropping cats off, a donation if you will. They do not work with rescues at all, which I do not agree with, they have a waiting list of people wanting siamese. If she posts in the local paper, she'd find quite a few homes wanting them. I'm about 15 minutes from Lancaster

Smile

Hi, what beautiful cats! I would like to offer a loving home to a seal point Siamese cat or kitten. I have two cats and a dog, and would love to have another addition. I have written to a few breeders but would love to give a cat a chance from a rescue. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. I also have to children aged 10 and 4. If you want any additional information about our family etc. please ask.
