Aslan, there was supposedly originally 1100 animals, what happened to them all is a mystery, but I can imagine
I was always of the belief the OSPCA is the place to report any mismanaging or abuse at any HS and was happy when they got involved with the THS,OMG was I misguided.
14+,yes I am also thinking of all the cats,it's as if they were not important at allit's very, very sad for sure.

If they(THS)decide to kill all the remaining animals,I would hope nobody donates any money at all, there are plenty of great animal-shelters that need the funding

They only have 6 dogs up for adoption....6 elsewhere and that's all....I'm not sure how many cats, but not all are for adoption.

The OSPCA sent Chico that letter, it was them who put a stop to the 5 pitties being transferred out, so it is just rhetoric....on top of that 3 of the Pitties were legal in Ontario.

The question is now what is going to happen to the rest of the animals, they go to court on the 6th April and are they going to close right after

This is tragic indeed. If Tim Trow was gone ages ago, I doubt it would come to this. I still don't trust TPTB at THS, they have been on an anti OSPCA tirade for a while, even trying to give the Hamilton SPCA (whom I've been volunteering for and I know the crew very well and do trust them) and Toronto Zoo a bad name (who's keepers look after their charges better than many pet "owners" do), and threatened to take legal action if the owner of Onebarkatatime if he posted his own photos of THS dogs on his blog.

These animals are in my thoughts and I wish them the very best. If someone cared about these animals, they wouldn't be in the predictament they are in. There should be some sort of competence test for owners.

Last week, THS posted its adoption and euthanasia stats on the website, shortly before they did their Friday kill. With their new policy, it's hard to know how quickly Jerome and company will be cleaning out those cages.

I can only assume that any animal listed on their site as *urgently* needing a home is on their Rainbow Board now for the next slaughter.

Some of Tim's cronies are STILL at THS. That'd explain things. I say we euthanize them.

I was reading this morning, there are 280 animals currently at THS,if they are closing,"cleaning out the cages",seeing most shelters are filled to capacity, who knows what will happen to these unfortunate innocent lives
I assume the majority of them are cats, easily disposable to so many

Again, it puts you back into perspective. If rescues went, evaluatated and also deemed them dangerous, then I would lean towards their decision and recommendations. That's just me.

I just commented in that thread...and I am very very confused on what to say, or think. But one thing is for sure - I don't feel better. I just feel sad, and even angry.

The other day they had 6 dogs up for adoption, today none.....one has been transferred to the Mississauga Humane Society, I don't know where she is being housed since they are a volunteer based rescue with no shelter...Her name is Patience, a GSD and they are asking for a foster/adopter.

Well, now what happens????

Will the "new" THS continue to be empowered to do the animal welfare / cruelty investigations or will that be taken up by Animal Services? Or the OSPCA?

What happens to their facilities? Specially the "new" cattery that cost a bomb. Will they retain charitable status? What happens to the money and assets they have? The staff?

I would think if and when they regain their affiliate status they will resume doing investigations.

From what I've read they will re-open in the same location......

I'm beyond appalled that a rescue group recommendations were to have these dogs pts'd. If ever there was a time to get them out of there to give them a chance at a real life ... it would of been then. To suggest they would of hurt their cause

Why didn't they resign before making such decisions as to get rid of/euthanize/refuse entry by closing? Won't surprised me come June 1st *opening day* to find the old board all re-elected

The H$U$ has been invited to do a consultation/assessment of the THS - Wayne Pacelle has experience running a shelter

Back to the animals 9 DAYS LEFT PLEASE SHARE

With the exception of Bandit only one dog remains at the THS - Mary Sue Terrier X Special Needs http://www.torontohumanesociety.com/...arbor_dogs.asp

With four days left until the temporary closure of the THS, this appears to be where things stand now:

Good News

ALL of the animals available for adoption were adopted/fostered from the THS.....the only one left being Bandit, who shall remain there for the timebeing.

It's a tragedy that Bandit was forced to live in total isolation then killed in the end ... Whatever you have done, Bandit, whatever was done to you, I hope your are finally able to rest in peace.
