Awww... they both just GORGEOUS DD!!!
I want to pic them up and snuggle them!

I LOVE both faces. The open face on Lupa is just beautiful, though it looks like she may end up with a bar, which is equally as nice. And the full mask on Nikki is just stunning on the blacks. If I ever had a black, that's what I would want

When do you get them?

Finally a couple new pics to post. Don't have a firm shipping date yet, but we're looking about the 8th or 9th of Feb. I can't wait! I will need to take about a month off work if I'm going to get a chance to take them everywhere that people have said "Bring them in when you get them!"

Miss Lupa 8 weeks and then Sir Nikki at 6.5 weeks. I am quite liking the little ribbons under Lupa's eyes, it looks like they will be staying (I was worried they were going to fade away, but maybe not).

I can smell the puppy breath from here! Plus I have this irresistible urge to rub a puppy belly right now....

If anything, going by the pictures you have posted, those ribbons are getting darker. They make her look like a baseball player. (You know, with the dark makeup under their eyes to help stop sun glare?)

Oh dear, DD, if you could have seen the MESS Roo made in his pen tonight you might not dream of keeping those two together for even one night. Unbelievable!! LOL. Your pups are looking lovely. It's easy to see now that Nikki is a boy, his head is stronger than hers even though she is older.

GF, sorry about Roo's mess! I will have two crates, and will try that first, I figure if that doesn't go well though they may sleep better together. At least for a bit.

You pretty near brought tears to my eyes there with the comment about Nikki having a stronger head. I've been feeling a bit sorry for him because everyone seems to feel Lupa is more attractive and I admit she's very photogenic. While he's cute as a button, that's the first really possitive thing I've gotten about him, if you know what I mean. In a doggy sense. What exactly do you see that makes you say he looks "strong". DH will want me to explain this to him. But in looking at him after you said that, I think I can almost see that too. Thank you for putting me at ease!

Nikki's mom is a fairly small dog. I must dig up some parental pics to post. I hope he gets his dad's size. Don't want Miss Lupa to dwarf him!

I think they both are equally attractive , Lupa looks very feminine with her markings under her eyes and Nikki markings look very masculine to me. I think you have two very beautiful puppies. And I would made a big fuss over both of them if I saw them in life.

Thanks Barkingdog. I do think that Lupa's breeder takes very nice pictures, and many more than Nikki's, so I think Lupa's pics are nicer just in general. But I think Nikki will be a nice looking boy.

Nikki is heading to Lupa's house tomorrow. The breeder is keeping them both for a few days so they can get used to each other before shipping them out here in one crate. I gave her a very gentle hint that I would LOVE a few pics of them together.

Nikki has arrived at Lupa's and is out making friends apparently. Lupa's mom Mylie is not terrible happy about the interloper though. I guess that's to be expected. Hopefully she'll get some group pics, but I do have one here of Nikki en-route. The breeder (Janis) will be trying to book their flight today and they should with any luck head out to Vancouver on Tuesday or Wednesday next week!

I commented on Lupi's ribbons because they really are unique markings, but Nikki is very handsome too. Those white eyebrows of his are, I'm sure, going to get a workout as he tries to convince you that he is perpetually starving. (As far as I can tell, ALL puppies are perpetually at risk of starving to death, at least they think so.)

Oh my another change of plans. They are not coming on Tuesday or Wednesday now. They are coming on MONDAY! Three more sleeps (if I can sleep).... Lupa's breeder says Nikki is beautiful and should be a show dog. I wish I had more time to do stuff like that with them, alas it's not in the cards. OMGosh, I can't wait!!!

It might just be breeders who see the difference, DD. She is very feminine but the difference between them is is obvious to me as the difference between a stallion and mare, or a bull and a cow. He's going be a big macho man before you know it, and a very handsome one. He has 100% a male's head. You know, when I had my last two red ACD's I really loved Susie, who to me was, like Lupa, a lovely feminine girl, and Susie to me was a better female than Perkins was a male, just because IMO he was just a little on the big and heavier side. But who did all the judges put up? Perkins! I loved them both, and everyone will love both of yours. You should try showing Nikki. They need to be good from head to tail but I know the first thing a judge sees as they come into the ring is their head, and his should make a great first impression. I have entered Roo for just 4 shows, baby puppy classes(3 to 6 months) simply because I won't have to run with him, my knee may not be up to that yet. It's a great way to socialise them. I just know that Roo is going to embarrass me by playing up badly. A friend's pup, years ago, had everyone, including the judge, laughing hysterically, because it heeled him all the way around the ring.

Oh, the mothers CAN be offended by other bitch's pups coming near their little princess, so I hope Lupa's breeder is careful. I put Toby(Shady's pup) in with Sugar(Silk's pup) when both were babies just so that Sugar(a singleton) had someone to play with, and Silk was really miffed about it, from then on she thought she had every right to chastise Toby. Only 3 sleeps, YAY!!!! Two nights before I got Roo I had 3 hours sleep, and about the same the night before, so it was a good thing my friend was doing the driving. Nikki'sa looking great, growing like a mushroom.

GF, yeah the breeder will be careful, but she said Mylie's not too bad now. Nikki weighs 17 lbs (two days ago), so that's pretty good. Not sure what Lupa weighs, haven't asked her breeder to be honest. Can you show pups just because you feel like it? I don't know the first thing about it, I don't think it would be a good fit for me. With the bee's being a weekly thing in the summer, and work, I just don't think I'd have the time to commit to showing them. My friend from work did say she'd go to obedience with me though if I need someone to handle the second pup. So that's good to know. I don't thing DH would be interested in it.

I don't sleep well at the best of times, so I just know the next few days (nights...) will be awful. And Monday at work will probably be a write off.

I think they're both just gorgeous, DD! And I agree with GF, I think Nikki will have a nice, large head. He also looks like he's got quite stalky legs, which is my favorite look
It's hard to tell from the photos if he's a long body or not, but that's what Nookie is. Long body, short stout legs and a large head. Though, they typically weigh quite a bit more than they should for the standard. But I don't care about that, I still like the look
You will have to post a lot of pics!!

Lupa's breeder has them both now, and said she was going to try to get some pics, but I haven't gotten any yet. I know she's off to a dog show today, so darn it, I'll just have to wait a bit more.... Two more sleeps

Another day another trip to the pet store! Bought their brushes and a new set of nail clippers, a bottle of Nature's Miracle accident cleaner , one toy. $99.00 On top of that they did not have the kibble I wanted, nor did I find a shampoo I wanted - well I forgot the shampoo, looked at a couple and then kept on going. Will get that stuff tomorrow. Plus one new dog bed for Halo. I will put one old dog bed out in one dog house, and Halo's old dog bed out in the other dog house, so Halo will get a new bed. The puppies will be crated for a while in the house, so they don't need inside beds yet. They'd probably just eat them anyhow. Have stocked up on old towels.

We went past our butcher's today and picked up a nice bag of chicken back and necks and beef bones for the pups. I offered Halo a beef bone but she was not interested. Got enough for a week of feeding. Free!! Gotta love friends who are butchers!
