Can I Rant Too??

we are those kinds of people who really try to do the right thing but seem to fall on our noses. stars dont line up?? i dont know.

few weeks ago my vacuum died. now with 5 fuzzy things, 2 children and a 'wooded lot'.... followed by a 2yo's (translates into 'little kids eating things off my floor') birthday party.... serious panic mode. everyone was showing up in less than 48 hours. honest to god i wasnt able to get a hold of someone with a carpet worthy vacuum in the first 24 hours. i wont rehash our logic but we figured up that we had enough and in all honesty needed a better quality vacuum, the $60 Bissel we bought when we bought out apartment gave us 3.5 good years..... *coughs*

we got an excellent deal on a Kenmore (Sears) Progressive with Direct Drive [36932], after taxes, rebates, extra bags and so on- $305 (was looking closer to $400 but i told Chris i *refused* to pay over $300 for a vacuum). as it stands, you couldnt pry this thing out of my cold dead hands.

then my laptop died on me. its fixed now but it was pretty nerve wracking while it was outta commission.

my sisters bi-polar/manic depressive husband got his hands on a beretta over the weekend. we found out sunday when we went to pick up my 8yo daughter. he has it loaded, chambered, on his person with my baby girl in the house. Chris has the presence of mind to tell me AFTER we got home. i wont even get into how i feel about that. i will tell you this will unquestionably be the last time i leave my children with my sister ormy mother. ever.

my step mom just finished chemotherapy- breast cancer. i *should* make the trip up north. she is not coping very well with loosing a breast.

but wouldnt you know.... my 2006 Civic is in the shop with a cracked engine block. manufacture defect i guess. we are barely half way through the warranty on the drivetrain.

so to unwind i went to the city to hang out with a friend, treat on him... had some fantastic chocolate stout, a few Leinies (the orange wedges were a perfect sweetness!!), had a touch of rain, it was warm enough to sit out side.... i guess between the thick lovely beers, the stress and the impending phase of my menstrual cycle my poor gut is... unhappy to say the least.

i have to say, to be positive... at least, for the most part, bad things with clear cut paths happen.

You're well over the "bad things come in threes" stage.... but, i'm just glad you can still be positive.

I can only hope good comes out of a few of those lousy things... after all a new vacuum, a few days away from the computer, new engine block, banning mother and sister from babysitting, time with your step mom, might be considered GOOD things in the right circumstances (sorry nothing good about an unhappy gut, never)

for better times

thanks for the love guys! as a matter of fact once i found out they were replacing the engine i recalled all the great things that came out of the other not so good stuff. my OS got upgraded. a trip up north isnt exactly affordable but a family emergency like that will get me up there (and paying for it for a few years but hey...!) she and i have never got along but the way i see it, if i go up there and worse case be antagonistic, she will side with dad again right?

so ive been making this face a bunch lately. the kids seem to find it amusing-

BTW, thought i would update on the car... we dropped Lorraine off at the dealership monday at 5pm. ripped her guts out and looked at her yesterday. they received the new engine this morning and plan to have it installed and ready to roll this afternoon. hows that for service?

lemme tell ya.... my car was back within 50 hours of entering the shop. how cool is that?? runs like a dream now!! although im always listening for funny sounds and hearing them at every turn. *sheepish* i NEVER expected this car to give me such trouble this early. if the other car had done that i wouldnt have thought twice about it.

its been an INSANE week!! between the car farting out, Take Your Kid To Work Day, School Board "meet and greet" (please bring a covered dish!!!.... i made apple crumble... BIG HIT!!) of which didnt turn out any CLEAR paths. 3 positions are open and i really like 6. piano make up lesson... thats all toting a 2yo along too.

my sister has called a few times. i declined to answer. i am just so painfully disappointed in this situation. i just dont know what to say that could express that.

i have some GREAT pics i was editing last night when i crashed. Chris was sweet enough to put up the laptop and tell me to lay down.
