cat doesn't want to go outside, not normal

My 6-yr. old male cat who is in otherwise great shape, has a bit of a cold (runny eyes and occasional sneezing), seems to be coughing up a hairball lately but doesn't, now has absolutely no interest in going outside. He always was eager to go out first thing in the morning and whenever during the course of a day. Do these symptons indicate a trip to the vet?

Sounds like the cat is under the weather. You seem to think he has a cold, so it is reasonable for his to be acting differently. If he does not regain his normal behaviour within a few days OR his cold seems to be getting worse, then I would see the vet.
