Smile Cat Spraying

HI, I have male Snow bengal that is 4 years old. I had him fixed when he was a kitten. Now we live near where a lot of male cats come around and he has started to spray. He will spray on shoes, rugs and plastic bags, so far. What can you do to make him stop doing it? Is there a smell or a spary you can put down to make him stop. I took him to the vet and they said all you can do is put him on anti-depressions. And that can ruin his liver or kidney, so they have to do a blood test first. I saw something called feliway, does it work? Or is there anything else you can use. Thanks- Crystal
