2 Dogs found just before Osoyoos B.C

My daughter and her friend found 2 dogs on her way back to Langley, B.C in the middle of the road. They were very hungry but seemingly ok. They are being taken to Langley as my daughter and her friend don't know the area and won't leave them on the highway. I have a pic but not sure how to upload it. Any help would be great! Thanks, Lynda ( Guess I did it right!)

Poor dogs,it's hard to see what they look like, but I am glad the girls took them off the road and hopefully to a safe place.

Cattle dogs!! Definately from the same household.
I hope someone claims them. If not, do you have any ideas on what you are going to do?
If there is a cattle dog rescue out there, contact them and let them know about this. You never know...they may know who ones them. There are not too many of this breed just hanging around.
Also, a vet can scan for microchip.
Let the shelters, pounds, SPCAs know about your incredible find.

Do you think they are cattle dogs? My daughter wouldn't have gone back to check on them if they were closer to a town. She says they are very nice dogs but exhausted and are crashed in the back seat. They bought them leashes and dry and wet food. One had a collar but no tags. They will end up in Langley at this point, and we will go from there. They seem "dumped" She will have them checked for chips when she gets home!
Thanks for the replies

Not the response we wanted from Langley Animal Clinic but they will be sent to LAPS in the morning. I will cover all medical costs it just seems no one wants to work with me. So discouraging.

I am so DONE! Every time we try to help, we are just shot down. It makes me sick that those that claim to care for animals just don't. My heart is broken, I can do nothing more.......

Lynda - please tell us what is going on. We may have some suggestions for you to help your situations.

Don't be discouraged. You are overwhelmed at the moment and it is understandable. Don't give up just yet....

Lynda0421 , those look like Australian cattle dogs. Here's a link of Canadian rescues , specific breed rescues for this type of dogs. The first 4 , are in BC : http://www.aussierescuecanada.com/

I would contact all 4 , I'm sure one of them will be able to help you.

Ashley surrendered them to Langley Animal hospital. They told her they would be picked up by LAPS. I called them that night and they never called me back. My husband phoned them from Edmonton, (I am in Ontario) and was told the dogs would be sent back to a shelter up there. (Osoyoos, B.C) He asked for follow up as we don't want them put down. She took his number sorry to be a downer but that means nothing.) My husband has the biggest heart and told me, "I'll fly them out to you and we can find them homes".....Once you give them up, You LOSE! That makes me weary.....I hate the system! Not to mention Ashley was "frowned" upon for not finding a closer shelter. She didn't know the area, she is 19. That is why I feel like giving up!
Thanks for your replies
Hugs,
Lynda
P.S I am a cat person, too funny. I guess I am a animal person

If I were in your shoes I would contact the rescues that Frenchy is referring you to and advise them of these dogs. Maybe this shelter works with rescues and will let them have them?
I think it is worth a try.
Your daughter did a great thing. Very responsible and kind young woman. Her good deed out weighs any grief that the shelter dished out to her. Tell her that her compassion and wonderful heart saved further hardships for these dogs. I wish all of today's youths were so caring.

You have raised a wonderful daughter, you must be so proud.

Hopefully one of the rescues will be able to pull those dogs out

Just sharing

Here is one of the dogs

http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/18928312

I have know idea if he was always in Langley or not as LAPS wasn't willing to give much info after they were surrendered. And of course we have not been contacted. His description is nothing like my daughter described but who can blame him after his ordeal and now separated from his dog friend. (Rumor has it she has had puppies) May he find a forever home where he is loved. Bless his heart.

Lynda

Lynda, thank you for giving us an update
He looks like a sweetheart,so much better now..
I am glad he's in foster and not in a cage at the shelter.
Hopefully the right person will come along and love him.

Since he's a young dog, maybe the other dog was his mom..

I am glad he is in foster, and yes, I totally agree that animals become very close with their animal siblings and do feel pain when they are separated.

Hopefully it won't be long before he finds his forever home
