Tabu has crossed over
We decided to have him put to sleep, because there was little that they could do. It was more than renal failure. It's so hard on my dd's. I thought I would have take my one dd to the hospital because she almost hyperventilated while talking non stop home(15 mins). I could not believe how talkative she got tonight. I did let her talk, because I do know that is the way she is dealing with this but boy I sure would have liked some quite myself.
Definately not easy to make that decision. And he seemed to perk up at the vet's office. I know he was much loved here. Miss him very much. He was the :king: at our house. Our first cat together. |

so very sorry
So very sorry about Tabu. You did the right thing. It's a terrible decision to make. May Tabu have many days of chasing mice and birds over the bridge.

Cinnabear, Im so sorry to hear about your liitle buddy. I know the pain your in right now. We sent our little guy to the Rainbow Bridge almost two week now after having him with us for 16 years. The hurt continues and I dont think it will ever end. Take care of yourself and anytime you need to talk about it just call on anyone here.

I feel for you
I had to help my old dog cross over almost 2 years ago now. She also suffered renal failure, until we euthanized her we didn't know what happened to her or why. I'll post this quick, only because I'd like others to be aware of this danger..... I used to use toilet pucks to keep the bowl fresh and clean with every flush (you know the stuff, turns the water blue??) Anyway, I was not aware that when no one was around Tosha would drink from the toilet...as many dogs and cats will do. It was deadly to her, it shut her kidneys down and began the decline. We decided to let her pass and make it as painless as possible for her. Not only did we lose our friend early, we found out it was actually our own fault. So, BEWARE folks! I've had learned the hard way, a clean toilet is NOT worth what it cost me.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You did the right thing in not letting Tabu suffer, but I know that doesn't ease your pain.

I'm so sorry cinnabear! It's been a month since I lost Puss-Puss, so I really identify with your pain. This is the downside to owning and loving pets, but we wouldn't give up those other memories to avoid the inevitable. Not fair that our furbabies can't live longer!

 That's the hardest thing in the world to do. The thing about pets is their lives are so intense and so full of love to make up for the short time we have them. In my experience with dogs, the best friend to help you get through a loss of a dog is a dog, so if it's the same for cats, I hope you have another cat around that can help you heal.

Thanks everyone for your kind words.
I think we have too many animals as is, so we won't be getting anymore. We have 1 cat and 1 dog that is feelin very sad, as they were very close to him. The other 3 don't care. My daughter seems to be doing a lot better than that day. Thanks again. |
