Question Dog is secreting a "fishy" odor from his rectum

We have a 9 month old Lab/Springer Spaniel and lately he has been emiting or secreting a "fishy" smell from his rectum and whatever he happens to be sitting on also gets this awful smell on it! It is so strong it almost makes you gag and we were wondering what this could be and what should we do to correct this?
Thanks Lance and Cara

Hi there,

I'd talk about this with my vet...but it sounds like the food he's eating is causing this horrid smell.
maybe it just doesn't agree with his system.

Or maybe he is eating stuff (plants etc.) that he shouldn't

good luck

C
