Smile **New Pets.ca Baby thread - May 09

Hey everyone, how's it going? I thought I'd write an update and see how everyones doing?

Tommysmom - how much longer? Are you ready? Lets see some belly pics and hear and update, I bet you are pumped!!!!

Want4, how's Alex? Is he filling out now? Any new pics?

Lewis is doing good, he's huge, which doesnt surprise me, we have out 6 week old appt next week, last one with the OB, then we start seeing our family doc if needed. He's just over 5 weeks old and really starting to show his personality. He smiles alot, coo's and makes a racket whe he wants something, he's impatient and cuddly and so much fun, each day is new, he's very alert and likes to be entertained. He's moved in to his own room/crib cuz he out grew his bassinette, we've had to pack up all the smallest clothes and he's moved in to the next size up! We have video monitors in his room so we can watch him and he's almost rolling over!!

We fixed up his digestive issues, I cut out dairy from my diet, and the probiotics hes on work wonders, we added a elevated crib wedge to help alleviate the indigestion, he's doing so much better. He eats like a champ, Im having to give a bottle of breast milk after nursing to fill him up.

Dazy is getting more and more comfortable around him, she was never nervous, just cautous, she licks him and attends to his cries, ALWAYS comes in his room with us to change him and when we take her off leash to the field she always runs next to the stroller, its super cute, shes very intuned to what the family is doing. She's already wanting himt o share his toys and socks.

Here are some newer pics, 5 weeks old.

Omg, omg, omg .

Lewis is just too adorable!! I bet Dazy's thinking this is the best toy you ever brought home for her .

Wondering if Lewis' first word will be "Dazy" .

Give him a squish for me please .

I wondered the same, if he'll day Dazy first, he likes to look at her, yesterday we were eating supper at the table and he was on the floor beside me in his chair and she laid right down beside him and he starred at her for the entire dinner, she will either lick him or lay real close and turn her head away from him, not sure if if avoidence or submission, but its damn cute!! Wait till he can share his food from the high chair, they will be best buds!!

When we are in the car she'll rest her head over the back seat and watch him the whole drive, hes facing backwards so he gets to look at his doggy the whole ride, its cute. Once I had to put Dazy in the back seat with him and she rested her head on his car seat. loll!!

These two are going to be Trouble with a capital T!

Wow, you're little guy is so sweet!!! Benjamin is growing like a weed!! he's at the "everything is funny stage" Brina adores him and figures he needs his ears cleaned twice a day with doggie licks. he is now a whopping 8 pounds *L* eats like a little piggie and she also has to suppliment with bottles between breast feedings. You girls every hear of the Bumbo chair?? I love it....but it does look like a little pottie...

You're so funny grama!!

Great idea Melinda . I'll need someone to take care of the diaper duties as I'll be too busy smooshing babies .

Gorgeous babies, FordGirl and Melinda!! They look so sweet.

I'm still on bedrest, OB said today she'll be looking to induce me at 37/38 weeks (if I make it that far, my blood pressure is still climbing and climbing). I'm 35 weeks tomorrow, so that's just 2-3 weeks away now!! AND she says it looks like she's a BIG baby... which sounds just great to everybody who doesn't have to push the darn thing out, LOL. I have an ultrasound on Thursday to get a better estimate on size.

We're as ready as can be, I suppose... the room is ready, the clothing/diapers/incredible amounts of baby paraphernalia are all in place... but omg, I'm not ready, lmao. I guess you never really are!

TM, dont sweat the weigh guess, they can be off by several lbs, they always guess big, at 37 weeks they told me Lewis was 8.3 and at 38 weeks, they said 9.4, I had him on my due date at 40 weeks and he was 8 .15, which is large, they told me he'd be over 10lbs, but seriously, dont worry about that, bigger babies are born all the time, its all about gettn the head out. lol!!

Its going to be awsome, dont phyc yourself out, trust yourself, and your body, its going to be amazing!!!!

Hows bed rest treating you? read any good books? sleeping much? (I would kill for a week of bed rest at this point! LOL!)

Beautiful baby pics

I can't believe how much Lewis and Benjamin have grown since the last time I saw pics! But I guess babies do that, don't they?

for the last few weeks, TM! Keep that bp down!

I sure hope you're right! The doc just kept shaking her head and looking at my hubby (who's 6'2, I'm only 5'0) and saying... 'she's a big one, yep, she's a big one' LOL.

Bed rest SUCKS... I was planning to work right up until the end, I'm not used to sitting around. Good thing I had the baby's stuff all done anyway! I managed to somehow catch pneumonia last week (how on earth do you catch something when you never go anywhere?!?!) so I spent the entire time being sick and miserable and watching judge shows on tv, LOL. I know I should try and enjoy it while I can, but I'm just sooooooo not the type of person to do nothing. I really wish I had learned how to knit/crochet/sew or something!
