Yet more questions

I just purchased a Marina floating 3in1 breeding trap. I have had my tanks going for over a year and NO babies. Heated to about 80 ~ 3 males to 5 female Guppies. Okay here is the question I put my female in the trap, I did not put her in the V-incert like is says as there is a hole in the V-incert for the fry to fall through ~ but the bottom of the trap also has holes(the same size as the V-incert) can/will the fry fall through to my tank? Or can I put the trap with the holes in the bottom into a net trap and the fry fall through to that? Does the V-incert have to go in? When and how long should the female be in the breeding trap? Thanks so much for all and any help ~ I'm getting fish
