Niko is still looking for a forever home (Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, QC)

Niko is looking for a forever home. He is a black short haired 3 year old male, born end of August 2006. He has been at the shelter since October 2006. Although he has adapted well to life at the shelter (he lives in our large community cat room) he has been patiently waiting for someone to take him home.

Niko is pretty easy going. He loves to be petted, but hes not really used to being picked up too much.

You can come visit Niko at the shelter 7 days a week, between 1pm - 6pm. His adoption fee includes his basic vaccines, dewormed, and he is of course sterilised.

I don't understand why people don't like black cats,I have one who's a real sucky and lovable.
Cats are cats and no cat is less deserving than any other,no matter what color they are.
Maybe Niko is happy where he is,but I hope someone will give him a home

Its weird about the black cat thing. we have a volunteer who spends a lot of time with our cats. she is even starting to do complete behaviour evaluations on them (she can only do 1 or 2 each time she comes). she happened to do evaluations on 2 of our black cats who have been there over a year and we started discussing it. both of them are super friendly, would be great with kids, dogs, other cats...nothing bothers them - but noone even takes a second glance at them because they look ordinary i guess.

I hope Niko finds a home soon. he has been at the shelter much too long!

Some people are superstitious about black cats. We have two, and we couldn't live our lives without them.
