Need Answer if Possible now 01-25-04
My dog is not urinating as much as she usually does when I take her out and noticed some blood dripping after she trys going. She will sit like she is urinating alot but does not do anything. I noticed the blood because of snow on ground. Does anyone know why? I am taking her monday to vets, but if it is something really harmful, I would like to get her to a place that is opened.

She has a UTI, I'll put money on it. I've had female dogs with those exact symptoms & both times that's what it was. Try to get a urine sample from her to take in to the vet; otherwise s/he'll have to catheretise her for a sample & that's no fun!
It can wait till Monday if all else seems fine. Things to watch for: Extreme lethargy & refusing food & water. Pale gums, pupils being differing sizes. Dehydration - if you pinch some skin on her back & it stays kind of pinched up after you let go that's a sign. Signs of significant pain. Excessive drooling, panting, walking funny. Urinary tract infections are quickly & effectively treated with antibiotics. Let us know what the vet says, hopefully she'll be all better soon.
