Smile Hello out there , newbie as from today

I live in QLD Australia on a property and have 2 beautiful German Shepherds and 4 horses and many varieties of bird life.
We purchase mince meat for the wildlife - which includes magpies, kookaburras , and a few more varieties of birds. I have heard that wild life animals should not be fed more than 10% of their daily intake - does anyone know if this is correct.

I was told by an ACO and wild life expert never to feed wild animals ,this put them at risk of being killed . They lose their natural fear of people and if they go up the wrong person they could shoot them . Plus they could attack a person . They're call wildlife for a reason and should be treated as that and not a pet.

Feeding wildlife is discouraged here, in Ontario, Canada, as well. Problems arise when well meaning people feed the wrong food. Feeding makes the wildlife dependent and if the person stops the wildlife may not find another source. Feeding makes wildlife accustomed to human presence and may expose them to unfriendly humans. Some feeding, such as baiting some animals in hunting season, is illegal.

I think your best bet is to search out the agencies who are responsible for the wildlife where you live and ask them what you are allowed to do and how to do it.
