End of an Era?

Hi folks. I've recently re-joined 2 forums that I used to frequent a long time ago (Pets.ca being one of them). Something I've noticed is that traffic seems to be A LOT slower than it used to be. When I was on these forums years ago, I could barely keep up with all the new threads and replies flying around. Looking through these pages now, I'm finding whole sections where no one has posted in months, if not years.

I wonder if the "forum" is going the way of the dodo? Is it because everyone is on their phones these days instead of their computers, and surfing a forum is that much more difficult on those tiny screens? Or are people just becoming less "social" as a whole? Does anyone else find a down-swing in forum popularity? Or is everyone playing somewhere else and my invitation got lost in the mail?

Just curious.

Hey Writing4fun! Welcome Back! Nice to see you visit us!

Things probably seem slower but that just means you can interact more!!!!

Some of the members you likely remember have moved on to other sites and forums. Sometimes they come back for a quick visit or to pass on condolences to some of the members here.

How is the fur family doing?

I have to agree, there is a lot less postings than when I joined years ago. Maybe less people on their computer now.

Less postings I agree but lots of people are still using the board to look stuff up so to speak so it's still a valuable resource for many people.

Hope u are well writing4Fun!

People may have to work more to support their pets as the cost of caring of our pets has gone up a lot , the vets bills can kill you.

Thanks for the "welcome back". The fur kids are great. Not sure where we were at when I left... Phoebe is 9 yrs old now but doesn't act her age at all. We still have to hide the loaves of bread when we leave her alone. Did I have Marble when I was here last? She's the tortie my dh brought home from the SPCA one day, I think it was 5 years ago or so. All are well and happy and pretty much sitting on top of me as I type this. LOL!
