Nature's Variety Raw

Does anyone have any experience feed Nature's Variety pre-made raw?
I'm feeding it half the time at the moment, but have been thinking of just switching to it completely.
I'm just trying to figure out if anything needs to be added to it. The NV site is totally confusing me for some reason.

Also, I've heard that because it's shipped from the US, there may be some concerns about handling of the food, it being kept frozen ect. Any thoughts?

if the distributor's handling practices are good, there is no problem with commercial frozen raw food. if you open the box and the package has "ice crystals" inside, then the food is either old and it's freezer burn, OR the product did not stay completely frozen during transit and you could be paying for tainted food

if you feed 100% raw frozen patties, you don't need to add anything to the diet BUT unless you're well off, you'd do better to supplement up to half the meals with human-grade ground meats you find on sale (lean ground beef, lean ground pork, turkey, chicken...) and 1 tsp of ground eggshells per pound of raw meat, to balance out the phosphorus-calcium ratio. I'm assuming here you don't want to feed raw meaty bones, such as whole chickens, turkey, fish, pork, goat, etc?.... which is why i suggest the raw ground meats. you'll save a ton of money AND you know exactly what you're feeding your dog oh and whole eggs, shell included, make a fantastic addition to any raw meal, commercial or home-made...

Thanks technodoll.

My dogs have a long history of GI problems, so for the moment at least, I don't feel comfortable giving them unground bones.
They're eating half NV patties and half homemade food, so I might stick with that, I still need to think about it.

I have a friend in NY that feeds her two english springer spaniel's NV premade patties. Has been for a long time no issues, she's a huge fan.
