Reputable Rescues in SW Ontario
I am at a loss right now, my searching methods are jsut not working.
I am trying to find a rescue I can contact about these two beagles 'free to good home' in a local paper. They are elderly and sisters. I hate that they are listed as free to good home, but am not sure of what rescues are in my area. I can't seem to find any right now either (blonde moment?) Any help/advice is appreciated |

Be careful, ask Hamilton SPCA if they would release a dog to that group, many are not what they seem.
What is wrong with Chatham SPCA?I would try Barkin rescue first.Or SOAR. |

Nothing is wrong with the Chatham OSPCA, but ppl believe their animals will be put down if they bring them in there. and a lot of times on this very website, the SPCA is talked down, like the last resort of where to bring a dog.
I contacted one rescue earlier by email, waiting to see if I get a response. I actually know of a old beagle breeder in the area, i jsut thought of that, not sure if he will do anything about these girls though... here is the add: Free To Loving home, sisters, 2 mature female Beagles, excellent disposition, unable to care for due to extended family obligcations, left out number as i don't think we're allowed to post that. |

try Mature dog adoptions as well...
Bobbie Glazier of Mature Dog Adoptions is a beagle lover - I don't have her contact information handy but I believe she is on petfinder.
Marna is great too. I've worked with both of them. Jenny |

I have sent emails to Mature Dog Adoptions and Big On Beagles ... the other i got the msg too late to give them a call, so i will do that in the morning.
Beagles break my heart, I rmemeber doing a project years ago about animal testing, and seeing pictures of beagles after the skin test.. i cannot look into the eyes of a beagle without crying now, its terrible. I just want these girls to end up in a good home, wherre they can spend retirement. I think my local paper would drive everyone on this website nuts. Free to good home adds every week, every half week (Chatham This Week and Chatham Penny Saver) |

Talking about driving us nuts, i check out this website on a weekly basis, and i am saddend by all the free to good homes.
http://www.ospreyclassifiednetwork.com/classifieds/ in the "look for" field, i go to pets- agriculture, and then in the search box i type in free or good. This one for example "NEW - M free six month old Spitz-Eskie, knee high white with black markings. Free to great home with fenced yard. 905-347-4264. " How sad |

I don't know whether member Kismutt has seen this post but she runs a small dog rescue in SW Ontario. If you search under Kismutt you will find her information.
