re-occuring anal sac rupture

Hi, my M Siamese is [probably] 91/2 yrs, 14 lbs, has no molars were removed around July (just had terrible teeth; one after another...).
Has been on special vet dry food since then, in order to process (Royal Canin
for intestinal).
He had infected/ruptured anal sac on one side a mo or so ago; spent over $200 fixing this. I am a homemaker w/ not so much to go on, and he is now having this again. Well, at least he's licked it open again.

Alto I'm taking him to see the vet tomorrow (and am going to borrow a soft e-collar fm a friend this time), I dread the cost, and then, who's to say this will not become ongoing? If this is diet-related, I doubt I can tweek that. Do I ask about removing it? is this warranted? How expensive should that be? I don't know if anyone else has had this in their cat or not; but surely it's unusual to have it, let alone it be recurring, or having to remove it? Has anyone had to have their kitty's removed? Any opinions what they might consider appropriate or inordinate amnt to pay? Thanks ahead of time, iif anyone knows.

Hi, sorry I do not have any information for you about your kitty, hopefully one of our knowledgeable kitty gurus will be by to help. One thing I know they will advise you is to change your kitty to wet food only. patti

Jasper has anal sac issues and requires regular vet appts to get them expressed. The vet has talked about surgery but hesitates as there are risks associated with it. I do know he has the worst time when is stools are soft so I have to really limit the amount of carbs he eats. I feed him 50% raw/50% quality canned.
