Hello!

Well it's been awhile, and altho my dentistry adventure isn't over as of yet, I'm feeling 100% better than I did.
I'm still wearing a temporary bridge, until all the tissues and that heal and finish shrinking, but I must say it looks great...well much better than what was.
It's great being able to look someone in the face when introduced, and not looking at the ground when I speak. It has completely changed the way I interact with others and it's wonderful. I have a new found confidence.
I have also managed to lose a few more pounds, so now I'm down 70.8lbs
I haven't read all the threads that were posted while I was away, but I'm getting to it, but I hope all is well with everyone. I certainly missed ya'll and hangin' out at pets.
Well off to read some threads and try to catch up on whats going on in the world of Pets.ca.

wow!! great to see you, I was thinking about you yesterday! I met a man at breaky with a 6 day old baby in his arms, so of course I started talking to him so I could see the baby *L* in the midst of our convo, and I have no idea how it got to that point, he told me he had had the surgery on his tummy 7 months ago and has lost 160 pounds!! he has 200 more to go. You are doing so great!!! you must be so proud of yourself!!! Bet you can't wait for the dentist adventure to be over with. way to go girl!!!!!

Awe thanks ya'll, I appreciate it.
I will post pics once I get my permanent bridge work in.
Melinda, I actually thought about having the gastric bypass surgery, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. The prospect was too scary for me, and while I was overweight my doctor didn't feel that I was a worthy candidate for the surgery, as I only had planned to lose 40-50 pounds, I never thought I could actually lose 70! The first 8 weeks of my weight loss I was in Dr. Berenstein program, it got me started and everything since then has been just eating better and properly, watching calories and carbs and all that wonderful stuff lol.
I treat myself to a night out and a special meal (anything my heart desires from the menu) once a month, without guilt or shame.
That way I don't feel like I'm depriving myself of anything.
It's great to be back on Pets, I really missed ya's!
Hugz!

See now this is why I missed being here! thank you ya'll!
Couple other things to add to my update, I was having some severe headaches, and was told by my doctor to have my eyes checked so I did, and now I wear glasses! They have been hard to adjust to, I have progressive HD lenses. So I look like a bobble head at times when trying to focus lol.
Also, I finally got to have my grandson Mason for an overnight a couple weeks ago, and I get him for two nights next week end..so excited!
My son also became a first time home owner, he decided with having a fiancè and a son it was a good idea to plant some roots, so they bought the house they were renting, so we are very happy for him. Sad thing, he has shattered a disc in his back and will require surgery, he hasn't been too forthcoming with the details other than he's in a lot of pain.
Ohhhh and an update on Goober, we are now able to feed him alongside the other dogs! All our hard work has finally paid off and he's no longer showing any food aggression towards the other dogs. it stays that way, but of course they will always be fed under strict supervision.
So I think that's all I have to report at this time. April 12th I go back to the dentist to see if we can do the impressions one last time for my bridge.
Well off to curl up in bed with a tea and a book, and a pack of dogs
If hubby is lucky they might make room for him when he decides to come to bed If not there's 8 dog beds on the floor he can choose from

WELL done. Well done. WELL done. Food aggression is one of the toughest ~ good for you the both of you for working through it.
