Unusual behaviour with Gryphon!
Gryphon just all of a sudden started dragging his left hind leg and not quite sure what's going on.
He was sleeping in the front hall and when he got up, it started happening. Let him and Mollie out and they both had a good fromp outside and it appeared normal but when they came back, he was dragging it again. I checked out his paw and while doing so, clipped his and Mollie's nails. Everything seems to be o.k. but something just doesn't seem right.

It sounds like it could be a pinched nerve or degenerative disk disease. I would take him to the vet to get checked over.
Good luck and keep us posted. |

Is he actually dragging it, or not using it to support weight but holding it up? Poor baby

Does he seem to be in pain? I would give it a day or so and if not better then get him to your vet. You can also look into a dog chiropractor, we have had good results with Riley with one .

One day, when my Nikki was limping, my DIL did a simple Bowen Therapy movement on her, and the limp went away.
Bowen therapy is something like accupressure, it is very gentle on humans as well. I get full benifit of my treatments. something to look up, take care binky |

He keeps sliding it on the floor.
Just took him and Mollie out again but outside he was holding it up and favouring it. Earlier tonight, I went upstairs and he didn't even attempt to come up and be my shadow. Hubby noticed it too so we sat on the floor with a bright flashlight to see if anything was lodged in one of his pads but couldn't see anything. So we're going to monitor it tomorrow and if it doesn't improve or get better, I'll be calling the vet on Monday. In the meantime, I'll google Bowen therapy, Binkybuff-thank you.

If he's holding his leg up, he could have tore his ligament.

I sure hope it's something not too serious and he'll spring back to his normal goofy self.
I've been googling strokes in dogs, dogs having heart attacks, dogs dragging their legs and just trying to get an idea of what's wrong. I hope and pray it'll be something non life threatening.

I will keep you and Gryphon in my prayers. I hope it is something that can be easily fixed and non-life threatening as well

I wonder if he pulled a muscle--either in the leg or in his back--that was giving him some pain? Glad to hear he's feeling better! But if it happens again, I'd sure get him into the vet quickly.

it's nothing serious and he doesn't have a recurrence. And a big smoochie for him just because .

We're going to keep an eye on him for any re-occurances but so far, so good.
Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Your truly a great bunch of people who I can count on!

He seems to be doing o.k. so far.
We haven't had a walk in a few days but I think we might venture out on Wednesday for a short stroll. We usually walk about a mile but I'll cut it in half in a couple days to see how it goes.

I'm so glad he seems to be feeling better. Hopefully it was just a pulled muscle or a spasm!
