Smilies discussion - Why do quotes count?

Hi Marko,
Just curious why when we quote another message in our reply that those smilies count towards our small limit of twelve smilies? It just seems so unfair  .

hint, hint

Yeah , especially when multi-quoteing , one tends to collect quite a few from other posts, then I/we either end up having to post multiple replys or *gasp* deleteing smilies

I think we should be able to have 12 (or more ) of our own smilies in 1 post & not have the quoted ones counted

Yes, this is a good example.

Since Smiley Hog Growler used up nine smileys now I'm only allowed three.

good request.

sometimes we need A LOT of and A LOT of

and sometimes A LOT of good , just maybe not all in the same sentence. to get our message across.

so Marko could we ppppppplease have the limit increased and have the other smilies in a qoute or multi qoute not count towards ours??

No setting to disallow the counting of quoted smilies as far as i can tell.

So I just increased the limit to 18 per post instead of 12...but the quoting would still count toward the total of 18.

Hope that helps
Marko

is there a way when you quote to not include the other posters smilies??

meaning when you quote the smilies just not appear..just the text??

I think you would have to delete the other poster's smilies manually from your post.
