During this holiday season....

as we eat and drink our fill, in our warm homes and with loved ones around us, please take a moment to think of all the homeless animals who are out in the cold, hungry and desperate.

Make your New Year's resolution to help in some way - send a donation in any amount to a rescue, offer to foster a cat or dog - there are many many ways to help and they needn't cost a fortune or even take much time!

This movie is dedicated to all the animals who will live and die without ever knowing a kind word, or a home of their own.

LR you are the poster person for all the unfortunate animals who have been neglected, dumped, irresponsibly bred and abused.

Thank you for writing this, I was thinking of doing it but you did a wonderful job!!

To coin Carina's saying "ditto" with all that you said!

Christmas
The lighted window shows the room
So warm and softly glowing,
The tree so tall with twinkling lights
And all the presents showing.
While just outside a starving cat
Stands shivering in the cold,
And down the street a stray dog limps,
So tired and sick and old.

The baby monkey in the lab
Lets out a cry of fear.
The thing he thought was mother
Shot out quills when he drew near.
The car speeds by, the puppy cries
And drags her broken leg.
The beaver in the leghold trap
Lifts pain-filled eyes that beg.

How can we speak of peace on earth
And know these things are so,
And say they don't concern us
And we ought to let them go?
How can we think we have the right
To torture needlessly,
When all the time we know so well
It shouldn't have to be.

Come join with us at Christmas time
And pledge ourselves anew.
They need our help so badly,
There's so much that we can do.
Don't turn your back upon their pain
Because it's hard to see.
They have no other place to turn,
They've only you and me.

That is so great. The poem and the video made me cry.
My wife and I try to save as many cats, greyhounds we can get adopted out.
I know there are alot of homeless animals out on the streets etc and I am saddend that this is happing.

Also, I am very upset with all the build up of homes etc where deer and other animals live. Everyday, I see more and more dead deer on the side of the roads and other small animals.

It just makes me sad.....

Aww...that made me get all teary eyed....

Ditto!

Tomcat, lots of building around here too, much of it still rural. It's practically carnage on the roads in spring time with smaller animals, and way too many deer getting hit in the fall.
